Tuesday November 7, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-It is not that God's old testament of sacrifices was meaningless, but without a loving heart oriented toward God, the offerings were hollow-
2-The Pharisees didn't believe they needed a savior since they always followed the law-
3-When Jesus told the man by the pool of Bethesda to pick up his mat and walk, he had not broken the law but the Pharisees tradition-
4-Only through faith in Jesus are we justified.  That does not mean we actually become righteous but that we are declared righteous and sinless in God's sight through faith in Jesus as our Savior-
5-A beatitude is a pronouncement of blessing-

STRANGE THOUGHT
I like to look at the chart of the chemical elements periodically-

I'VE LEARNED
The more money a person has the more they want.  Instead of filling a vacuum, money creates one-

DID YOU KNOW
Gorillas beat their chest when they get nervous-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Will God treat you better than you treat others?
2-Is anyone beyond God's grace?
3-How do we know if we are being tested or tempted?
4-Is it possible to love God as much as he loves us?
5-Is there such a thing as negative faith?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Name the person who said the following as their last words-
"With my own eyes I have seen your salvation, which you prepared before all people.
It is a light for the non-Jewish people to see and an honor for your people, the Israelites.”
Answer for today     Simeon

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Joel 2:12-13   The Lord says, “Even now, come back to me with all your heart. Fast, cry, and be sad.” Tearing your clothes is not enough to show you are sad. Let your heart be broken. Come back to the Lord your God, because he is kind and shows mercy. He doesn't become angry quickly, and he has great love.
He can change his mind about doing harm.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank you for helping me see my sin and prompting me to repent-

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
