Friday June 22, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The Israelites were chosen by God for a unique fuction-to spread the Word of God and to make his nature and laws know to the world-
2-Hosea was the prophet of unconditional love-
3-The authors of the Gospels were not journalists covering Jesus trying to get all the details of his daily life-
4-Everything that happened in the New Testament took place in the days of the Roman empire-
5-What may be the truth to one person may be considered heresy by another-

STRANGE THOUGHT
The number "172" can be found on the back of the us $5 bill in the bushes at the base of the Lincoln Memorial---Can you find it? I've looked and cannot find it so I can't tell if this is true or not.  Can anyone tell me?

I'VE LEARNED
Those who commit to do God's will will always find themselves kneeling next to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane praying-

DID YOU KNOW
Hippopotami cannot swim-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Do we show our faith by what we do?
2-Is a person saved by their faith alone?
3-Can you have Christian faith without Christian deeds?
4-Can you be a "silent" believer?
5-Do the words "deeds" and "works" mean the same in scripture?

BIBLE TRIVIA
In front of what Canaanite city did priests blow trumpets made of rams' horns?
answer for today     Jericho         Joshua 6:4

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
John 14:16-18     I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he lives with you and he will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you all alone like orphans; I will come back to you. "

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank you for the gift of you Spirit.  May I walk with him today, comforted, guided, and empowered by his presence with me-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
