Monday June 25, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Much of the New Testament deals with the tensions and rivalries between two factions-
A-Those who believed that anyone who wanted to follow Jesus must convert to Judaism-
B-Those who wanted to take the "Good News" to the non Jewish world-
2-Even if I am confused by some of the things Jesus said and did, I still believe in his life, death and resurrection and his vision of the kingdom of God-
3-"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep"-
4-"Do not repay anyone evil for evil"-
5-"If it is possible, live peaceably with all"-

STRANGE THOUGHT
There are four cars and eleven light posts on the back of a $10 bill-

I'VE LEARNED
The best thing to hold onto is each other-

DID YOU KNOW
It is estimated that manatees live a maximum of fifty to sixty years-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do you always know what God's will is for you?
2-Did Jesus know ahead of time that during the crucifixion God wold forsake him?
3-Will God make choices for you without consulting you?
4-Is waiting on the Lord peaceful or stressful?
5-Is waiting on the Lord always beneficial?

BIBLE TRIVIA
What book says that anyone who scorns his parents will have his eyes pecked out by ravens?
Answer for today      Proverbs      30:17

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Romans 8:10-11     Your body will always be dead because of sin. But if Christ is in you, then the Spirit gives you life, because Christ made you right with God. 11 God raised Jesus from the dead, and if God’s Spirit is living in you, he will also give life to your bodies that die. God is the One who raised Christ from the dead, and he will give life through his Spirit that lives in you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank you for your Spirit.  Make me aware of our presence within me today.  I am yours.  Use me for your glory-

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
