Friday September 14, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-"God inhabits the praise of his people"-
2-Joy comes from the Lord, it has nothing to do with circumstances-
3-Thanksgiving is a way of life-
4-Whenever we have more than we need, our natural assumption is that it is for our own consumption-
5-Being generous does not mean taking a vow of poverty-

STRANGE THOUGHT
A boiled egg is hard to beat-

I'VE LEARNED
In any contest, the start is important, but the finish is crucial-

DID YOU KNOW
Mongooses were brought to Hawaii to kill rats.  This plan failed because rats are nocturnal while the mongoose hunts during the day-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Would it have appeared odd that Jesus never married?
2-Could Jesus have done any miracle that would have convinced the Pharisees that he was the Messiah?
3-What was Decapolis?
4-Why did Jesus call himself "the son of man"?
5-How could God be contained in a human body?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Who told the Moabites to live like doves nesting at the mouth of a cave?
Answer for today       Jeremiah     48:28

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Psalm 1:1-3     Happy are those who don’t listen to the wicked, who don’t go where sinners go, who don’t do what evil people do.
They love the Lord’s teachings, and they think about those teachings day and night.
They are strong, like a tree planted by a river. The tree produces fruit in season, and its leaves don’t die.
Everything they do will succeed.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, today I ask you to grow in me the desire to delight in your pathway-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
