Monday September 3, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Who we are is not what we have but what our hearts is filled with-
2-Generosity should be a natural outflow of who we are-
3-Being religious and being righteous are not the same-
4-Some churches have become a hanger instead of a runway-
5-The greatest use of life is to spend it living for something that will outlast it-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Law of public speaking--a closed mouth gathers no feet-

I'VE LEARNED
When God released snakes among the Israelites in the wilderness for their ingratitude, the symbolism showed shades of the Garden of Eden-

DID YOU KNOW
One species of antelope, the Sitatunga, can sleep under water-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Jesus miracles prove he was the Messiah?
2-When Jesus healed, cast out demons, walked on water, raised the dead, feed large crowds, etc, why didn't people understand and accept him as God?
3-Did the people ever wonder how Jesus did his miracles?
4-How large a part of Jesus ministry was the miracle part?
5-What was Jesus primary part in healing those who needed it?

BIBLE TRIVIA
What king always had choice poultry in his daily provisions?
Answer for today          Solomon         1 Kings 4:23

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Proverbs 2:1-6     My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—
indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, I want to know you and the wisdom of your kingdom.  Give me the passion to pursue you with all of my heart-

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG,
ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
