Friday November 23, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Even the best counsel is ineffective if it does not help us make wise decisions-
2-After the mountain tops comes the valleys-
3-A heritage is what you give to someone, a legacy is something you build into someone-
4-Accept reality, hope for the divine-
5-You won't really appreciate good health until you loose it-

STRANGE THOUGHT
If the funeral procession is at night, do folks drive with their light off?

I'VE LEARNED
All the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming-

DID YOU KNOW
You share a birthday with at least nine million other people in the world-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was Jesus showing favoritism by having a "special" disciple?
2-What held Jesus on the cross?
3-Does no one fear God today?
4-Did Judas choose to betray Jesus or was he chosen?
5-If Judas had not chosen to betray Jesus, would God have found someone else?

BIBLE TRIVIA
What prophet complained about the people making sacrifices under spreading oaks, poplars, and elms?
Answer for today           Hosea         4:13

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
John 3:20-21     “This is the crisis we’ re in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won’t come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank you for the illuminating power of your Word.  Help me to live in its light-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
