Saturday September 7, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-It is in our storms of life that Jesus does his finest work for that is when he has our rapt attention-
2-We cannot go where Jesus is not-
3-Feed your fears and your faith will starve, feed your faith and your fears will starve-
4-The steadfast love of God never changes-
5-Prayer is the practice of sitting calmly on God's lap and placing our hands in his-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Is there a difference in partly cloudy and partly sunny?

I'VE LEARNED-Having enough money is primarily a matter of attitude, not amount-

DID YOU KNOW-The African eagle, swooping at more than one hundred miles per hour, can brake to a halt in twenty feet-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Were Mary and Martha angry/disappointed that Jesus didn't come immediately upon hearing that his friend Lazarus was dying?
2-Did Jesus attend any funerals during his lifetime?
3-For whose benefit was it that Jesus waited till the fourth day to go see the dead Lazarus?
4-Did the removal of Lazarus' grave clothes complete his resurrection from the dead?
5-Where was Lazarus' spirit/soul during the time his body was in the grave?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who had Jesus as a guest at a meal with many tax collectors?
Today's answer-Matthew  Luke 5:29

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Luke 17:1-4
Paul and Silas traveled through Amphipolis and Apollonia and came to Thessalonica where there was a synagogue. Paul went into the synagogue as he always did, and on each Sabbath day for three weeks, he talked with his fellow Jews about the Scriptures. He explained and proved that the Christ must die and then rise from the dead. He said, “This Jesus I am telling you about is the Christ.” Some of them were convinced and joined Paul and Silas, along with many of the Greeks who worshiped God and many of the important women.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, the dynamic story of the three Hebrew men speaks of Your miraculous deliverance for all ages and throughout all generations.  Their unyielding devotion to You is a tremendous model to those of us who call You our Father. It is by testing that we are strengthened and conformed into you likeness. Trials come upon us to produce perseverance, build character, and draw us closer to Jesus. They also enable us to help others in similar situations because of our own personal experience we have a greater sense of how to help and pray for them in their hour of need. We love You Father and want to be found faithful no matter the circumstance. We pray that we will have a “but if not” degree of faith. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND.
