HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-If fear knocks at your door, ask Jesus to answer it-
2-Fear puts you in prison and then locks the door-
3-It is not the absence of storms that set Christians apart, it is when we
discover in the midst of the storm the unruffled Jesus-
4-Fear corrodes our confidence in God's goodness-
5-Fear unleashes anger stirring up doubts-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Why is the $ the symbol for the American dollar?
I'VE LEARNED-There is a difference in being a fan or being a
follower-
DID YOU KNOW-There is only one know species of ostrich in the world-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What was John the Baptist's primary mission?
2-Why didn't Jesus heal John the baptist when he was beheaded, after all,
he was family?
3-Did Jesus ever heal a family member?
4-Did anyone pray to Jesus while he was in human form?
5-Did Jesus take on himself the sins of all the people of the earth who
lived before his crucifixion?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who doubted the resurrected Jesus?
Yesterday's answer-Simon the Zealot
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Acts 16:16-18
16 Once, while we were going to the place for prayer, a
servant girl met us. She had a special spirit[a]
in her, and she earned a lot of money for her owners by telling fortunes.
17 This girl followed Paul and us, shouting, “These men are
servants of the Most High God. They are telling you how you can be
saved.”
18 She kept this up for many days. This bothered Paul, so
he turned and said to the spirit, “By the power of Jesus Christ, I command you
to come out of her!” Immediately, the spirit came out.
Footnotes:
- 16:16 spirit This was a spirit from the devil, which caused her to say she had special knowledge.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, You are our light, our strength and our
song; the Cornerstone of our faith and our solid ground that holds us firm
through the fiercest drought and darkest storm. In the midst of tremendous trial we can still find
heights of love and depths of peace that still our fears and release sweet
assurance to our souls. From our first cry to our final breath You
command our destiny and no enemy can thwart Your plan for our lives. We stand in
Your power and walk in Your strength through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name
we pray. Amen.
