Friday August 28, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-We are all a product of our times-
2-Jealousy is comparing the inside of yourself to the outside of others-
3-Jealousy is not what others have but what you think you lack-
4-Envy is a state of ingratitude-
5-Brutality is often driven by fear-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you dial a wrong number you never get a busy signal; someone always answers-

I'VE LEARNED-Broken crayons still color-

DID YOU KNOW-The D in D-day stands for "day".  The French term for D-day is J-jour-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the Israelites build any of the pyramids for the Egyptians?
2-How long did the Israelites live in Egypt before leaving with Moses?
3-Did Judaism invent the idea of "one God" right from their beginning?
4-Did the original concept of Israel's Yahweh mean the only God or the greatest among many?
5-Did the idea of a single God as the "supreme true God" open the gates of intolerance?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins"?
Answer for today      Peter      Acts 2:38

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 8:42-45

While Jesus was on his way to Jairus’ house, the people were crowding all around him. 43 A woman was in the crowd who had been bleeding for twelve years, but no one was able to heal her. 44 She came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of his coat, and instantly her bleeding stopped. 45 Then Jesus said, Who touched me?”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, none of us are 100% humble since we are clothed in these mortal, fallible bodies. But we do know that Jesus is the model of One completely humble in His humanity though supreme in His divinity. He did not consider equality with You, our Father, something to be grasped but took on His personhood as a man and became obedient to death, even death on the cross. We look to Jesus as the supreme example of humility, obedience, and sacrifice. As we clothe ourselves in Your righteousness we will resist pride that is ever before us. Expressing an attitude of humility and thankfulness is the daily antidote for resisting haughtiness and ingratitude. When we acknowledge that everything we have and all that we are is due to Your merciful blessings we are humbled and grateful to You, the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
