Monday August 24, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-With prosperity comes the need for integrity-
2-Yelling at the darkness does not make it light-
3-Immediate correction begins with honest admission-
4-Unresolved guilt always magnifies anxiety-
5-Grace is something you can never get, but only be given-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Velcro--what a rip off-

I'VE LEARNED-a few kind words can help you a lot more than you think-

DID YOU KNOW-Native speakers of Japanese learn Spanish more easily than English.  Native speakers of English learn Spanish more easily than Japanese-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is the story of Abraham and Isaac just a story or an actual event?
2-How many wives did Abraham have?
3-How many children of each wife were born to Abraham?
4-Was Joseph's coat of many colors really that or simply a long sleeved robe?
5-Why is the fate of the valuable Ark of the Covenant never discussed in the Bible?

BIBLE TRIVIA-
Who said "Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?"
Answer for today      Abraham   Genesis 15:2

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 8:30-33
30 Jesus asked him, What is your name?”
He answered, “Legion,”[a] because many demons were in him. 31 The demons begged Jesus not to send them into eternal darkness.[b] 32 A large herd of pigs was feeding on a hill, and the demons begged Jesus to allow them to go into the pigs. So Jesus allowed them to do this. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd ran down the hill into the lake and was drowned.

Footnotes:

  1. 8:30 Legion Means very many. A legion was about five thousand men in the Roman army.
  2. 8:31 eternal darkness Literally, “the abyss,” something like a pit or a hole that has no end.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, You have called us to live at peace with all people, in as much as it is possible. As people of free will we cannot force reconciliation but we can facilitate reconciliation. Help us to lay aside pride, prejudice, procrastination and preconceived ideas of the outcome and take the first step toward reconciliation. Guide us in this most important endeavor as we attempt to live at peace with all people. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

-May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
