Monday December 21, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-If what you are doing is not working, stop doing it-
2-What you need to receive give away-
3-Could it be that God permits his children to struggle in order to keep them strong-
4-The christian life was never intended to be a walk through a rose garden-
5-Bead has to be eaten to do any good-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Happiness is a direction, not a place-

I'VE LEARNED-Profession does not always mean possession-

DID YOU KNOW-Eating chocolate was once considered a temptation of the devil-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Jesus said "Love your enemies....pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute".  Is this a command from Jesus for us to follow or an ideal that can't actually be practiced in real life?
2-Does the Bible tell us to resist temptation?  We are told to resist the devil.
3-The key to overcoming temptation is not to push back.  It is to refocus on something else-
4-If faith moves mountains, does doubt create them?
5-What does it mean to hold God's blessings with an open hand?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage comes from what old testament book-"The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord comes".    Acts 2:20
Answer for today     Joel 2:31

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY       Luke 18:40-43
40 Jesus stopped and ordered the blind man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
He said, “Lord, I want to see.”
42 Jesus said to him, “Then see. You are healed because you believed.”
43 At once the man was able to see, and he followed Jesus, thanking God. All the people who saw this praised God.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, when I’m distracted from my goal or tempted to withdraw from the spiritual race, impress the following truth upon my heart. It’s not the one who runs the swiftest nor the one who shines for a day, but the one who endures to the end, the same shall be saved. May I strive for the goal, pass the test of endurance, and be found faithful even as I draw my last breath. It is only by Your grace, through my surrendered will, that I can accomplish this. Amen.

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
