Thursday July 13, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Where God's treasure is, his heart is also-
2-Jesus' desire is that we live in such close relationship with him that all we lack is seeing him face to face-
3-Spiritual maturity is learning that under God's umbrella we are free to sing in the rain.  Outside of God's umbrella we nearly drown in the flood-
4-We may quench the Spirit, but we cannot disable him-
5-God is too faithful to allow the prodigal life to be cost free-

STRANGE THOUGHT
The only healthy part of a donut is the hole in the middle-

I'VE LEARNED
Kindness is one of the hardest things to give away for it is nearly always returned-

DID YOU KNOW
Bamboo (the world's tallest grass) can grow up to ninety centimeters in a day-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are Christians not to defend themselves in court leaving their vindication to God as Jesus did?
2-Is it real humility that makes people great?
3-Are humility and self esteem related?
4-What did David mean by "the valley of the shadow of death"?
5-Did Jesus feel fear before/during the crucifixion?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Ephesians 1:22 "God put everything under his power and made him the head over everything for the church-"  This new testament passage is found in what old testament book?
Answer for today       Psalm 8:6

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Hebrews 6:9-12    Dear friends, we are saying this to you, but we really expect better things from you that will lead to your salvation. 10 God is fair; he will not forget the work you did and the love you showed for him by helping his people. And he will remember that you are still helping them. 11 We want each of you to go on with the same hard work all your lives so you will surely get what you hope for. 12 We do not want you to become lazy. Be like those who through faith and patience will receive what God has promised.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, help me to be a doer and not just one who hears-

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE-
