Thursday July 12, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-To bring up a child in the way they should go, travel that way yourself-
2-As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours-
3-Don't worry that your children don't listen to you, worry that they are always watching you-
4-What a child doesn't receive, they can't give later-
5-Children have more need of models than they do of critics-

STRANGE THOUGHT-You can't stop the waves but you can learn to surf-

I'VE LEARNED-If your dog doesn't like someone, you probably shouldn't either-

DID YOU KNOW-A baseball has exactly 108 stitches-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What was the basis for the Jerusalem testing of Jesus by satan?
2-In the Jerusalem testing of Jesus by satan, how much of a fall was satan suggesting for Jesus to take?
3-Was satan suggesting for Jesus to take the fall in Jerusalem in front of a crowd of people and to make it look like a show?
4-If Jesus had taken Satan's suggestion of taking the fall in Jerusalem and then have been caught by angels, would it have demonstrated anything?
5-Satan stated as scripture what God would do to rescue Jesus if he fell.  Was it and if so where was it?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who died after lying to Peter about the value of the possessions they had sold?
Yesterday's answer-Jehu   2 Kings 10

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Matthew 22:1-10
1 Jesus again used stories to teach them. He said, 2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son. 3 The king invited some people to the feast. When the feast was ready, the king sent his servants to tell the people, but they refused to come.
4 "Then the king sent other servants, saying, 'Tell those who have been invited that my feast is ready. I have killed my best bulls and calves for the dinner, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.'
5 "But the people refused to listen to the servants and left to do other things. One went to work in his field, and another went to his business. 6 Some of the other people grabbed the servants, beat them, and killed them. 7 The king was furious and sent his army to kill the murderers and burn their city.
8 "After that, the king said to his servants, 'The wedding feast is ready. I invited those people, but they were not worthy to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite everyone you find to come to my feast.' 10 So the servants went into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, You have shown the greatest example of what it is to be rich toward us in countless ways, but most especially when You gave Your only Son to be our Savior. You extended to us full forgiveness when we could do nothing to earn it. May we likewise be rich toward You giving ourselves fully in love, obedience, in our resources, and in loving others as we love ourselves. Rather than seeking first a comfortable and secure life here on earth, help us to remember that will come to us in heaven. Instead help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness and all that is needed will be given to us by Your gracious hand. We thank You for it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
