Monday May 18, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-When thankfulness fills your life, it comes our of your mouth-
2-Look for ways to be grateful for your spouse, your family and your friends-
3-Live in the present moment, not your memory moment-
4-There is a direct link between your ability to love and the depth of your gratitude-
5-There is a direct link between the depth of your gratitude and your understanding of the word grace-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The severity of the itch is in reverse proportion to the reach-

I'VE LEARNED-Feelings are not reliable guides for determining right and wrong-

DID YOU KNOW-Spain literally means "the land of rabbits"-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is God still God on the days when love just doesn't feel like enough?
2-Is there such a thing as coincidence?
3-Why doesn't scripture tell us to celebrate the birth of Jesus?
4-Did the Gospel writers not expect or want Christians to celebrate Jesus' birth?
5-Can we really pray if we aren't being honest?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "I go the way of all the earth; be thou strong therefore and show thyself a man"?
Answer    David    1 Kings 2:2

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 1:46-49
46 Then Mary said,“My soul praises the Lord;
47 my heart rejoices in God my Savior,
48 because he has shown his concern for his humble servant girl.
From now on, all people will say that I am blessed,
49 because the Powerful One has done great things for me.
    His name is holy.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, when we consider the saints throughout history and the marvelous saving power portrayed in their lives we’re encouraged by their bold example and their consistent enduring walk with You.  We recognize these “greats” of the past and those in our own generation who are faithful and powerful examples. They do not build their own kingdom or take credit for their accomplishments. Instead they recognize that it is God alone who deserves our truest praise, no matter our own personal sacrifice. We gratefully declare to ourselves and to others, “This God is our God!  He will be forever and ever!  He will be our guide even unto death.”

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
