THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Worshiping images of God is not worshiping God-

2-Godliness cannot be merely a charm.  It must be a reality in our motives and in our actions-

3-When the Israelites's faith in God disintegrated, their unity as a nation also disintegrated-

4-When you leave God out of your life, you may be shocked at what you are capable of-

5-Whenever we get away from God and his word, all sorts of evil can follow-

 

STRANGE THOUGHT

When you open a bag of cotton balls, is the top one meant to be thrown away?

 

I'VE LEARNED

In a lawsuit, the first one to speak seems right until someone comes forward to cross examine-

 

DID YOU KNOW

The murder rate in the United States is two hundred times greater than in Japan.  In Japan, no private citizen can buy a handgun legally-

 

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-Did any of the religious leaders become followers of Jesus after the crucifixion?

2-Was an earthquake at the crucifixion an unusual event for that area.  Had the people ever experienced one before?

3-Did the earthquake at Jesus crucifixion cause wide spread damage?     

4-Did crucifixions continue after Jesus died that way?

5-Why did the Romans not allow their own people to be crucified?

1 Corinthians 12:27-31     You are Christ’s body—that’s who you are! You must never forget this. Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything. You’re familiar with some of the parts that God has formed in his church, which is his “body”-Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Miracle workers, Healers, Helpers, Organizers, Those who pray in tongues-But it’s obvious by now, isn't it, that Christ’s church is a complete Body and not a gigantic, undimensional Part? It’s not all Apostle, not all Prophet, not all teachers, not all Miracle Worker, not all Healer, not all Prayer in Tongues, not all Interpreter of Tongues. And yet some of you keep competing for so-called “important” parts. But now I want to lay out a far better way for you.

Father, I need you to help me respond to your calling to me and not to your calling to other people-

 

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
