Sunday December 16, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
1-Too often we presume to speak for God, to put words in his mouth, to take him for granted, or to interpret his silence to mean he is absent or unconcerned-
2-God's actions do not depend on ours, he will do what he knows best regardless of what we think-
3-We must trust God with our unanswered questions-
4-It is difficult to forgive someone who has incorrectly accused us of wrong doing-
5-Focusing our thoughts on God moves us to praise him-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Why are retirees so slow to clean out the basement, attic or garage.  They know as soon as they do, one of their adult children will want to store stuff there-

I'VE LEARNED
God never stops pointing the way.  He is always with us as we go-

DID YOU KNOW
The roaring lion in the MGM logo was named Volney and lived at the Memphis Zoo-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Jesus go to hell at his death as stated in the apostles creed?
2-If Jesus was in hell during the Easter weekend, what did he do there?
3-Would the place from which Jesus ascended to heaven on the MT of Olives be a sacred place along with his birthplace, crucifixion place and burial place?
4-Could it be possible Jesus appeared in resurrected form to people not recorded in scripture?
5-Why was there forty days from Jesus' resurrection to his ascension?

BIBLE TRIVIA
What prophet mentions a gift of ebony wood sent to Tyre?
Answer for today            Ezekiel           27:15

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Romans 14:8-9      It’s God we are answerable to—all the way from life to death and everything in between—not each other. That’s why Jesus lived and died and then lived again: so that he could be our Master across the entire range of life and death, and free us from the petty tyrannies of each other.
