Thursday August 15, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Our similarities bring us to a common ground, our differences allow us to be fascinated by each other-
2-Faith is not reasonable to the unbeliever-
3-Christians are willing to give their life to something that many others would consider foolish or a waste of time-
4-Faith enables the Christian to see what others cannot see.  As a result faith enables them to  do what others cannot do-
5-A faith that pleases God will enable you to wait with confidence knowing that God will act-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing?

I'VE LEARNED-There is no key to happiness.  The door is always open-

DID YOU KNOW-The albatross can glide on air currents for several days and can even sleep while in flight-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What age will our resurrected bodies be?
2-Does God require our faith in order to do miracles in our life?
3-If God knows our needs, why does he want us to ask him to supply them?
4-What does it mean"the Lord is a strong tower"?
5-What did Noah do for work before building an ark?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was not one of the original disciples, though he probably labored harder for the gospel than anyone else?
Yesterday's answer-Jude

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Acts 14:1-7
In Iconium, Paul and Barnabas went as usual to the synagogue. They spoke so well that a great many Jews and Greeks believed. But some people who did not believe excited the others and turned them against the believers. Paul and Barnabas stayed in Iconium a long time and spoke bravely for the Lord. He showed that their message about his grace was true by giving them the power to work miracles and signs. But the city was divided. Some of the people agreed with the Jews, and others believed the apostles.
Some who were not Jews, some Jews, and some of their rulers wanted to mistreat Paul and Barnabas and to stone them to death. When Paul and Barnabas learned about this, they ran away to Lystra and Derbe, cities in Lycaonia, and to the areas around those cities. They announced the Good News there, too.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, sometimes we are frustrated by what little we have to offer others when we compare ourselves with those who are greatly talented or those who have a special way with words, or even those who may have financial resources to bless others in ways that we cannot. But we are not limited in reaching out to one who may be looking for a reason to smile or to the one who simply needs a helping hand. We pray for the prompting of the Holy Spirit to show us ways that we can encourage those around us so that it will be passed on to others as well. We pray for this through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
