Friday November 6, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-If there is no patience there is no mercy-
2-Patience deeply received results in patience freely offered-
3-Self absorption and ingratitude make for lonely jails-
4-God does more than demand patience from us, he offers it to us as a fruit of the Spirit-
5-Patient people have great understanding-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Silent scream-

I'VE LEARNED-When we pray, our task is to ask in faith and wait in humility-

DID YOU KNOW-Turnips turn green when sunburned-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why do the gospels report that Pilate turns Jesus over to  the Jewish crowd.  His execution was clearly carried out by roman soldiers?
2-Why are the Gospel stories of Sunday morning at Jesus' tomb not consistently the same of who did what?
3-How is it possible for there to be hundreds of different denominations under the umbrella of Christianity?
4-Since scholarly, sincere Christians can't really agree on much of what Jesus said and meant, how can Christians do so now?
5-How do you tell the world the "good news" if you don't speak their language?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament book-"A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory"?      Matthew 12:20
Answer for today    Isaiah 42:3

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY      Luke 13:22-24
22 Jesus was teaching in every town and village as he traveled toward Jerusalem. 23 Someone said to Jesus, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?”
Jesus said, 24 “Try hard to enter through the narrow door, because many people will try to enter there, but they will not be able."

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, through Your righteous narrow gate we enter into the Christian journey. And with Your help and by Your mercy we will also stay the course. How grateful we are to be among those who enter since Jesus said “only a few will find it.” At times there is a compulsion to be aligned with the masses who walk the broad way because it is more acceptable to others and easier to align with those around us. But we know the end result will be eternal damnation later, lack of peace here and now, and friendship with the enemy of our soul.  Help us to remain faithful to You, zealous in our Christian walk, and ever mindful of those we need to bring along with us on the narrow path. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN-
