Monday November 9, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Your soul was more important than his blood so he gave up his so you could have yours-
2-Your eternal life was more important than his earthly life so he gave up his so you could have yours-
3-In a world of upward mobility choose downward servility-
4-The hand that formed the universe took the nail of a soldier-
5-True humility is not thinking lowly of yourself but thinking accurately of yourself-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Social worker

I'VE LEARNED-Sin brings its own bitter reward-

DID YOU KNOW-Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient for waking you up in the morning

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-We know how Paul got to Rome but how did Peter get there?
2-Why did God allow the cruel sadism of Nero to take place on the first century Christians?  Was this part of God's plan for them?
3-Was Paul a chauvinist in telling women how to act in church?  Does his direction apply to us today?
4-Why were Paul's letters placed in the new testament in a longest to shortest order and not in a chronological order?
5-Why did God never allow Paul to go to Spain as he desired?

BIBLE TRIVIA-
This new testament passage is from what old testament book?-"For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed"      Matthew 13:15
Answer for today    Isaiah    6:10

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Luke 13:31-33
31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said, “Go away from here! Herod wants to kill you!”
32 Jesus said to them, “Go tell that fox Herod, ‘Today and tomorrow I am forcing demons out and healing people. Then, on the third day, I will reach my goal.’ 33 Yet I must be on my way today and tomorrow and the next day. Surely it cannot be right for a prophet to be killed anywhere except in Jerusalem."

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Thankful man Father, we’re grateful for those throughout history who chose to be men and women of faith, whose hearts were fashioned in Your image, for those who served Your purpose in their generation. We also want to serve Your purpose in our generation. Help us to remain steadfast and strong as we press on in this race set before us. Thankfully, in this race, we’re not in competition to be the only prizewinner. Instead we take hold of the hands of those who run with us and invite those on the sidelines to join us. We want to cross the finish line together so that we will all receive the grand prize of life eternal with You. May we never give up! Amen.

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
