Thursday November 12, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-We can get so focused on what we don't have that we're blind to what we do have-
2-Anger by itself is not sin, but it can lead to sin-
3-You cannot keep people from rejecting you, but you can keep rejection from enraging you by letting God's acceptance compensate for their rejection-
4-Today's thoughts are tomorrows actions-
5-Today's jealousy is tomorrow's hatred-

STRANGE THOUGHT-sweet sorrow

I'VE LEARNED-Money in itself is not wrong, but loving money leads to all sorts of sin-

DID YOU KNOW-The banana is the most often eaten fruit in America-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why is 666 the number of the beast?
2-Will the mark of the beast 666 be some kind of digital mark on the people?
3-Did first century Christians know what 666 stood for?
4-Did God's character and personality change between the old and new testament?
5-Why did God take pleasure from the smell of burnt animal bodies?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament book-"My house shall be a house of prayer"?
Answer for today     Isaiah 56:7

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY      Luke 14:7-11
When Jesus noticed that some of the guests were choosing the best places to sit, he told this story: “When someone invites you to a wedding feast, don’t take the most important seat, because someone more important than you may have been invited. The host, who invited both of you, will come to you and say, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then you will be embarrassed and will have to move to the last place. 10 So when you are invited, go sit in a seat that is not important. When the host comes to you, he may say, ‘Friend, move up here to a more important place.’ Then all the other guests will respect you. 11 All who make themselves great will be made humble, but those who make themselves humble will be made great.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, we honor our military veterans who gave their all that we might enjoy our freedoms. Some of them bear visible reminders of their service such as a missing limb, or a jagged scar. Others carry less visible signs such as a pin holding a bone together, shrapnel buried beneath their skin, tortuous physical and mental images that cannot be erased from their minds, causing many of them deep disturbance in their mental health. We pray that You will encourage the veteran’s families and place godly people in their paths who will build relationships with them giving them an opportunity to share their faith. We pray for those serving today who are being denied their expression of faith due to the politically motivated changes within the military. We consider the chaplains who uphold the teachings of the Bible rather than the philosophies of our day that redefine what is right and what is wrong. Fortify them with courage, wisdom and the resolve to stay firm in the days ahead, to hold to what is true no matter what they endure as a result. And, lastly, we pray for our spiritual veterans who have forged the straight and narrow path before us that leads to eternal life. We follow behind and don’t look back to the broad path that leads to destruction and eternal doom. In the name of Jesus we praise You and thank You for these military and spiritual veterans. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAY HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE-
