HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-I don't know what God is going to do but he is still God-
2-Isn't it amazing what God can do and does do with our limited
surrender-
3-Anger can only exist in a state of unforgiveness-
4-Anger blocks forgiveness and forgiveness negates anger-
5-Wise people learn from their mistakes-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Work party
I'VE LEARNED-While romance keeps a marriage interesting, it is commitment
that keeps romance from dwindling away-
DID YOU KNOW-In Ivrea, Italy, thousands of citizens celebrate the beginning
of Lent by throwing oranges at one another-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-In the New Testament, why are the words "tax collector" and "sinner" used
together?
2-Do we need to ask God everyday for the presence of the Holy Spirit?
3-Does the power of the Holy Spirit in us primarily free us from our past
or free us to become a child of God?
4-Is the filling of the Holy Spirit primarily to cleanse us from our sin or
to enable us to live the Christian life?
5-What does the Bible mean saying "Your body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit"?
BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament
book-"The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the
Lord"? Mark 1:3
Answer for today Isaiah 40:3
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY Luke 15:25-32
25 “The older
son was in the field, and as he came closer to the house, he heard the sound of
music and dancing. 26 So he
called to one of the servants and asked what all this meant. 27 The servant said, ‘Your brother has come back, and your
father killed the fat calf, because your brother came home safely.’
28 The older son was angry and would not go in to the
feast. So his father went out and begged him to come in. 29 But the older son said to his father, ‘I have served you
like a slave for many years and have always obeyed your commands. But you never
gave me even a young goat to have at a feast with my friends.
30 But your other son, who wasted all your money on
prostitutes, comes home, and you kill the fat calf for him!’ 31 The father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me,
and all that I have is yours. 32 We had to
celebrate and be happy because your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He
was lost, but now he is found.’”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father, we cannot remain neutral but must stand for that which is good or we
will fall for that which is evil. Help us, as believers, to cling to that which
is good even when it comes at great sacrifice. With the aid of Your Holy Spirit,
we will be keenly discerning of the spirits of this age. Philosophies of this
world must never trump principles from the Word. We look to You alone, for
“There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” In
the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
