Sunday April 19, 2009 thought for today

A PRETTY SPRING SCENE

Here are my thoughts for today
1-When you reach the end of your rope, you will find the hem of His garment-
2-Be kinder than necessary for everyone is fighting some kind of battle-
3-Hold yourself responsible to a higher standard than anyone else expects of you-
4-Saying I can forgive but I can't forget is only another way of saying "I will not forgive"-
5-Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note, torn in two and burned up-

Strange thought-It is hard to be fit as a fiddle when you are shaped like a cello-

I've learned-Experience is a wonderful think for it enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again-

5 things I want to know
1-Why are we so eager to prove to the world that we are the best at what we do and yet unconcerned of why or who we are?
2-Why do we define life by what we pursue?
3-Why does the Bible not mention anything of how or where Jesus lived during his ministry?
4-Did Jesus as an adult really do carpenter work before beginning his ministry?
5-Before beginning his ministry was Jesus the sole support of Mary and Joseph (if he was still alive)?

Scripture for today Proverbs 27:8-14
8 A person who leaves his home is like a bird that leaves its nest.
9 The sweet smell of perfume and oils is pleasant, and so is good advice from a friend.
10 Don't forget your friend or your parent's friend. Don't always go to your family for help when trouble comes. A neighbor close by is better than a family far away.
11 Be wise my child, and make me happy. Then I can respond to any insult.
12 The wise see danger ahead and avoid it, but fools keep going and getting into trouble.
13 Take the coat of someone who promises to pay a stranger's loan, and keep it until he pays what the stranger owes.
14 If you loudly greet your neighbor early in the morning, he will think of it as a curse.

I wish you a day filled with love, laughter, forgiveness and thanksgiving-jasper
