Tuesday June 12, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-We live in a hard world, but we don't have to live with a hard heart-
2-You cannot win God's love and you can never lose it-
3-Agape love is an exercise of God's will in deliberate choice-
4-Love is why Jesus came and why he endured-
5-Jesus didn't love us to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Who, in their infinite wisdom decreed that little league uniforms be white?  Certainly not a mother-
I'VE LEARNED-The difference in perseverance and obstinacy is that the first comes from a strong will and the other from a strong won't-
DID YOU KNOW-Ukrainian Monk Dionysius Exiguus created the modern day Christian calendar-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Would Joseph and Mary have had a typical engagement?
2-What was the significance that God wanted Elizabeth's baby boy to be named John?
3-Would Jesus have called Joseph "daddy"?
4-How did Joseph and Mary ever get together as a couple?
5-What stigma did Mary carry as a pregnant unmarried teenager?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What king of Judah was sent into exile in Babylon and put in prison, but was later released and treated as a friend of the king of Babylon?
Yesterday's answer-Hanani    2 Chronicles 16:10
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Matthew 17:9-13

9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone about what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10 Then his followers asked him, "Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?"
11 Jesus answered, "They are right to say that Elijah is coming and that he will make everything the way it should be. 12 But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him. They did to him whatever they wanted to do. It will be the same with the Son of Man; those same people will make the Son of Man suffer." 13Then the followers understood that Jesus was talking about John the Baptist.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, lay upon our hearts the unquenchable desire to pass on to others the important truths we received from reliable followers of Christ and from our own study of Your Holy Word. Help us not to relegate our duties to others, but take up our responsibility as we link together with other believers all over the globe transmitting Your timeless, life-changing truths to those who have ears to hear.  Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
