Sunday May 19, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light-
2-A friendship based on emotion is a shallow one-
3-Don't be troubled by trouble-
4-Circumstances don't change the character of God-
5-Familiarity breeds complacency-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The easiest way to lose weight is to check it as airline baggage-

I'VE LEARNED-God's grace is exceedingly abundant and indescribable-

DID YOU KNOW-It is physically impossible for pigs to look up at the sky-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-Living in what way pleases God?
2-Can following traditions or rituals make you holy?
3-Why did Paul say that celibacy gives Christians more time to serve God?
4-Did Paul firmly believe that he would see Jesus' second coming?
5-What does it mean to "pray without ceasing"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What priest had a son named Ichabod, a name meaning "the glory has departed"?
Yesterday's answer-Zechariah    2 Chronicles 24:21

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY  Acts 4:13-17
13 The leaders saw that Peter and John were not afraid to speak, and they understood that these men had no special training or education. So they were amazed. Then they realized that Peter and John had been with Jesus. 14 Because they saw the healed man standing there beside the two apostles, they could say nothing against them. 15 After the leaders ordered them to leave the meeting, they began to talk to each other. 16 They said, “What shall we do with these men? Everyone in Jerusalem knows they have done a great miracle, and we cannot say it is not true. 17 But to keep it from spreading among the people, we must warn them not to talk to people anymore using that name.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather in heaven, we ask You to help us apply Your teachings to our lives so that our foundation will be unshakable and storm-proof when the howling winds and surging rains beat against us. The foundation of this world is temporal and growing more and more decadent, so we choose instead to build our lives on the eternal foundation of Your Holy Word, as You teach us all throughout Scripture. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
