Friday November 10, 2017 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-As Christians, we are a family, a community of believers who strengthen one another-
2-Parables are instructive stories that have a symbolic significance-
3-Scripture repeatedly uses the word "heart" to refer to  the center of a persons being, including his mind, emotions and will-
4-The cross was a stumbling block to the Jews because scriptures asserted that a man hanged on a tree is cursed by God.  The messiah therefore could not be crucified and thereby cursed by God-
5-To acknowledge Jesus means to accept him as the messiah and put your faith in him-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Inflation hasn't ruined everything.  A dime can still be used as a screwdriver-

I'VE LEARNED
When you delight in giving to others, you free yourself financially-

DID YOU KNOW
Bats are the only mammals that can fly-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is there anything ever out of control as far as God is concerned?
2-How is it possible to do everything to the glory of God?
3-Why did God have to destroy all the animals in the great flood since they had nothing to do with sin?
4-Are there animals and vegetation that exist now that weren't on the earth prior to the flood?
5-When God created us did he also create our weaknesses and limitations also?

BIBLE TRIVIA
Name the person who said the following as their last words- “See this stone! It will remind you of what we did today. It was here the Lord spoke to us today. It will remind you of what happened so you will not turn against your God.”
Answer for today       Joshua

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Luke 24:46-47    He said to them, “It is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day 47 and that a change of hearts and lives and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name to all nations, starting at Jerusalem.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, help me to make disciples in my circles of influence for your great glory-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
