Friday August 24, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-God doesn't need us to defend him.  He wants us to represent him-
2-Some people say that religion is a crutch.  But there are times in our lives where our circumstances cripple us, and in those times I'd rather have God to lean on than any other alternative-
3-Christmas is all about good news and it is the good news of God's love-
4-If we want to be like Jesus, we must be willing to suffer for him, even to the point of death-
5-The Bible is full of reminders that whatever is in the heart will be expressed in your living-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did the Pharisees have such a hugh impact on Jewish life?
2-Why did Jesus call Matthew to be a disciple when he was such a despised tax collector?
3-After John the Baptist pointed out Jesus as the Messiah, did his followers then become followers of Jesus?
4-The Pharisees criticized Jesus disciples for breaking the Sabbath by getting some grain to eat out of the field.  How were they expected to eat?

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
1 Thessalonians 5:8-9    But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, help me to see life from your perspective.  Help me to live today, learning from the past and making godly decisions because I have solid hope in my eternal future with you-

I PRAY THAT GOD GIVES YOU STRENGTH IN YOUR STRUGGLE, PEACE IN YOUR PAIN, AND VICTORY IN YOUR VALLEY-
