Monday August 13, 2018 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The supreme example of early Christians absolute trust in God was their acceptance of persecution-
2-In many places where our Bibles use the word "witness" ,the early Christians were really "martyrs"-
3-The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it-
4-Those we love don't have to be exactly like us.  Life is too short for drama and petty things so kiss slowly, laugh insanely, love truly, forgive quickly and pray often-
5-Friendship isn't about who you have known the longest, it is about those who came into your life and never left your side-

STRANGE THOUGHT
Some people would kill for a Nobel Peace Prize-

I'VE LEARNED
The purpose of dating is to find a match, not to fix someone-

DID YOU KNOW
Camel's milk does not curdle-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why didn't Josephus (an ancient Jewish historian) have any books as part of the New Testament about Jesus?
2-What is the practical difference between teaching and preaching that Jesus did?
3-Did any of the disciples come from wealthy families-
4-Is there an significance that Jesus choose fishermen to be his disciples?
5-Why does the Bible only state about one disciple that Jesus loved?

BIBLE TRIVIA
What prophet said that Ahab's people would be eaten by birds?
Answer for today            Elijah        1 Kings 21:24

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Isaiah 53:4-6     But he took our suffering on him and felt our pain for us.
We saw his suffering and thought God was punishing him.
But he was wounded for the wrong we did; he was crushed for the evil we did.
The punishment, which made us well, was given to him, and we are healed because of his wounds.
We all have wandered away like sheep; each of us has gone his own way.
But the Lord has put on him the punishment for all the evil we have done.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank you for all that Jesus went through and for all of your blessings-

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
