Thursday April 18, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-What we call adversity, God call opportunity.  What we call tribulation, God calls growth-
2-The thrill of soaring begins with the fear of falling-
3-Nothing changes until something moves-
4-There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but very few that will capture your heart.  Pursue these-
5-Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why do drugstores make sick people walk to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes in the front?

I'VE LEARNED-We so fear failure that we create the image of perfection-

DID YOU KNOW-A group of geese on the ground is called a gaggle; a group of geese in the air is a skein-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does the delayed return of Jesus show his patience?  If so, what will trigger the end of his patience?
2-Are we to be or not to be concerned about the timing of Jesus' return?
3-Are Christians generally poor in waiting and patience?
4-Why did Peter write 1 Peter to people he doesn't seem to know since he doesn't call them by name?
5-To what people group seems to be Peter's primary ministry?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What Hebrew married the daughter of an Egyptian priest?
Yesterday's answer-Melchizedek   Hebrews 7:3

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts 1:12-14
12 Then they went back to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. (This mountain is about half a mile from Jerusalem.) 13 When they entered the city, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon (known as the Zealot), and Judas son of James were there. 14 They all continued praying together with some women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and Jesus’ brothers.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we want to be set apart as a people who care about others, regularly expressing care to them as we follow the Biblical mandate that each of us should look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Paul charged his readers to have the same attitude as Christ Jesus who is the supreme example of putting other’s needs before His own. May we be more interested in giving energy to others than taking it for ourselves, for when we refresh others, we ourselves are refreshed. We are replenished as we give to others, for Your reservoir never runs dry and we thank You for it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
