HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-If we follow the light of God as revealed in the bible, we can find hope
even as we walk in the rain-
2-God is stronger than problems that overwhelm us-
3-Great people are really just ordinary people with an extra ordinary
amount of determination-
4-If you think that God will or God won't, either way God will do what is
right-
5-Those who do not show love to others can hardly claim to love God-
STRANGE THOUGHT-He had a photographic memory which was never
developed-
I'VE LEARNED-Make peace with your past so it doesn't spoil your
present-
DID YOU KNOW-Sunbeams that shine down through clouds are called crepuscular
rays-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Of all of Jesus' miracles, which one most impressed his disciples?
2-Would the boy with 5 loaves and 2 fishes have been with his parents and
if so was this food part of their lunch also?
3-Why did Andrew tell Jesus about the 5 loaves and 2 fishes when he knew
that was only enough for the boy?
4-Was Andrew tying to be helpful or emphasizing the impossible telling
Jesus about the boy with the loaves and fishes?
5-When Jesus told the disciples to seat the crowd in small groups on the
ground, were they confused or in a state of excitement to see what Jesus was
going to do?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What Canaanite city did the spies find the entrance of?
Yesterday's answer-Absalom 2 Samuel 15:10
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY John 6:16-21
16 That evening Jesus’ followers went down to Lake
Galilee. 17 It was dark now, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The
followers got into a boat and started across the lake to Capernaum. 18 By now a strong wind was blowing, and the waves on the
lake were getting bigger. 19 When they had rowed the boat about three or four miles,
they saw Jesus walking on the water, coming toward the boat. The followers were
afraid, 20 but Jesus said to them, “It is I. Do not be
afraid.” 21 Then they were glad to take him into the boat. At once
the boat came to land at the place where they wanted to go.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father,
help us to be moved by the plight of those who are prepared to suffer and even
lay down their lives for the sake of Christ. We remember them in our prayers and
remember them as warriors of the faith, who for the joy set before them endured
the suffering, shame and agony of their tormentors. As they endured the
humiliation they also overcame by the blood of the Lamb. Many of them have
received the crown of life in heaven that is rewarded to those martyred for
their faith. On Coronation Day when we all gather in heaven we look forward to
enjoying earnest fellowship with these tried and true saints of our faith who
did not give up meeting together to worship You. Keep us faithful when tested
by fire, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
