Sunday March 21, 2010 thought for the day

FRIENDS
Here are my thoughts for today
1-When you are doing God's business, God is taking care of your business-
2-Forgiveness does not necessarily make things right, but it does make you free-
3-Christians are to be forgiving but not tolerant or condoning-
4-Pain is a teacher of obedience-
5-Live as though God is beside you as indeed he is-
STRANGE THOUGHT-When one engine fails on a twin engine plane, you always have enough power left to get you to the scene of the crash-
I'VE LEARNED-Christmas is God saying "I want to relate to you. I want you to know me as much as I know you"-
DID YOU KNOW-Van Gogh cut off his left ear. His "Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear" shows his right one bandaged because he painted his mirror image-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why do we use the Latin word Calvary instead of the Hebrew word Golgotha?
2-Would there have been other crucifixions going on at the same time as that of Jesus and the two thieves?
3-Is there any significance that Jesus was not crucified alone?
4-Why were the Roman soldiers so cruel to Jesus or was this normal behavior for all crucifixions?
5-What caused the Roman Centurian to confess Jesus was the son of God and did he then become a follower of Jesus?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the original name of Mara?
Yesterday's answer-Saul (Acts 13:9)
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY PSALM 147:1-9
1 Praise the Lord! It is good to sing praises to our God; it is good and pleasant to praise him.
2 The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem; he brings back the captured Israelites.
3 He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
4 He counts the stars and names each one.
5 Our Lord is great and very powerful. There is no limit to what he knows.
6 The Lord defends the humble, but he throws the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing praises to the Lord; praise our God with harps.
8 He fills the sky with clouds and sends rain to the earth and makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He gives food to the cattle and to the little birds that call.
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER
