Monday May 17, 2010 thought for the day

FRIENDS
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-None of us do great things for God but we can all do small things with great love-
2-Peace begins with a smile-
3-Do the things you fear and the death of fear is certain-
4-Wherever two hearts dwell together in love, that place is holy-
5-A child does not want to be in a cage but he does want to be on a leash-
STRANGE THOUGHT-We rarely think people have good sense unless they agree with us-
I'VE LEARNED-Opportunity is sometimes hard to recognize if you're only looking for a lucky break-
DID YOU KNOW-There are more than 33,000 radio stations around the world-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the disciples ever sin after Jesus' ascension?
2-Why did Jesus tell the disciples before the transfiguration not to tell anyone he was the Christ?
3-Since the name Peter means rock, could it be that Jesus meant Peter would be the cornerstone on which he would build his church?
4-Did Jesus come to establish a "church"?
5-How could Peter be the "Rock" on which Jesus would build his church when a few verses later he spoke to Peter in rebuke calling him Satan?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What did God change Jacob's name to?
Yesterday's answer-James
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY MARK 8:27-33
27 Jesus and his followers went to the towns around Caesarea Philippi. While they were traveling, Jesus asked them, "Who do people say I am?"
28 They answered, "Some say you are John the Baptist. Others say you are Elijah, and others say you are one of the prophets.
29 Then Jesus asked, "But who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ."
30 Jesus warned his followers not to tell anyone who he was.
31 Then Jesus began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and that he would be rejected by the older Jewish leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of the law. He told them that the Son of Man must be killed and then rise from the dead after three days.
32 Jesus told them plainly what would happen. Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to tell him not to talk like that.
33 But Jesus turned and looked at his followers. Then he told Peter not to talk that way. He said, "Go away from me, Satan! You don't care about the things of God, but only about things people think are important."
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER
