Saturday May 1, 2010 thought for the day

FRIENDSHIP
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Don't expect applause--deserve it_
2-A sense of humor is like a needle and thread, it will patch up many things-
3-The man who remembers what was taught at this mother's knee was probably bent over it-
4-Blessed are they who give without remembering and receive without forgetting-
5-If you can't do great things, do small things in a great way-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Top cats often begin as underdogs-
I'VE LEARNED-Vacations are 2 weeks spent with those you thought you loved best-
DID YOU KNOW-Clark Gable used to shower more than 4 times a day-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-Would those waiting 50 days for Pentecost have gone home at night to eat and sleep?
2-Should we have regular scheduled time for prayer?
3-What are the origins for the Saducees and the Pharisees?
4-Why were the Jewish religious leaders angry when Jesus or the disciples brought healing to people who needed it?
5-Will God bless you if you give for the wrong reason?
BIBLE TRIVIA- What Bible person's name meant "praise of the Lord"?
Yesterday's answer-John
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY MARK 7:9-15
9 Then Jesus said to them, "You cleverly ignore the commands of God so you can follow your own teaching.
10 Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and 'Anyone who says cruel things to his father or mother must be put to death.'
11 But you say a person can tell his father or mother, 'I have something I could use to help you, but it is Corban--a gift to God.'
12 You no longer let that person use that money for his father or his mother.
13 By your own rules, which you teach people, you are rejecting what God said. And you do many things like that."
14 After Jesus called the crowd to him again, he said, "Every person should listen to me and understand what I am saying.
15 There is nothing people put into their bodies that makes them unclean. People are made unclean by the things that come out of them."
I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER
