Saturday January 22, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-God will chasten his children but not abuse them-
2-Why be politically correct when you can be right-
3-Often we want God's blessing but we don't want to pay the price-
4-God cannot answer a prayer that is not prayed-
5-God cannot deliver anyone who is not in trouble-
STRANGE THOUGHT-You break the rules, you pay the penalty, you figure it out-
I'VE LEARNED-We can be so right that we are wrong-
DID YOU KNOW-Certain sounds in the English language are real germ spreaders, particularly the sounds F, P, T, D, and S-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is all sin always a matter of choice?
2-Is our "heart" or "will" in rebellion against God?
3-Is our "will" predetermined genetically or by how we are raised?
4-Is a baby born with a "will"?
5-Can a person's "will" be broken?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What king broke his own law when he called on a spiritualist to bring up the ghost of Samuel?
Yesterday's answer-Herod
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 1 Peter 5:1-5
The Flock of God
1 Now I have something to say to the elders in your group. I also am an elder. I have seen Christ's sufferings, and I will share in the glory that will be shown to us. I beg you to2 shepherd God's flock, for whom you are responsible. Watch over them because you want to, not because you are forced. That is how God wants it. Do it because you are happy to serve, not because you want money.3 Do not be like a ruler over people you are responsible for, but be good examples to them.4 Then when Christ, the Chief Shepherd, comes, you will get a glorious crown that will never lose its beauty.

5 In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other.
"God is against the proud,
But he gives grace to the humble." — Proverbs 3:34

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-JASPER
