Tuesday November 22, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Our will alone will not stand up to satan-
2-If you cannot hear the voice of God in calm times, you will not hear it when you are in a storm-
3-God has called Christians to be soldiers not settlers-
4-The most terrifying threat to our society is a crime without a conscience-
5-What have we gained if we win a child to Jesus on the other side of the world and lose our own?
STRANGE THOUGHT-How much deeper would the ocean be without the sponges?
I'VE LEARNED-Good habits are as easy to form as bad ones-
DID YOU KNOW-The holes in fly swatters are use to lower air resistance-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Since Jesus is part of the Trinity, is the Holy Spirit a part of Jesus?
2-Since Jesus is part of the Trinity, is he then a part of the Holy Spirit sent to us after his ascension?
3-If God is a Trinity, who should we pray to , or doesn't it make any difference?
4-In Jesus desert testing, is there a significance in 40 days?
5-In Jesus desert testing, was he deprived of sleep?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who spoke to Abram while he was in a deep sleep?
Yesterday's answer-David and Abishai 1 Samuel 26:7
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
12 A person's body is one thing, but it has many parts. Though there are many parts to a body, all those parts make only one body. Christ is like that also. 13 Some of us are Jews, and some are Greeks. Some of us are slaves, and some are free. But we were all baptized into one body through one Spirit. And we were all made to share in the one Spirit.
PRAYER FOR TODAY

Praying man Father, I know that godliness with contentment is of great benefit. It gives me a state of mind that is calm and satisfied; free from murmuring and complaining. I’m reminded that it takes little of this world’s goods to satisfy one whose citizenship is of another country. Help me to hold loosely to that which does not last beyond this life, and to clasp tightly that which has eternal significance. May the character of my soul and the fruit of my actions be of much greater importance than the perishable items that are alluring to me. I look to You for proper balance in the things You have blessed me with and the attitude in which I receive these good things from Your hands.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
