Monday January 9, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You can't be a Christian who doesn't pray and expect God to answer your prayers-
2-There may be Christians that do nothing, but there should never be Christians with nothing to do-
3-If you are filled with faith in God you are equipped with God's power-
4-If you are not filled with faith and hope, you will be filled with doubt-
5-We need to close our eyes to others faults and open our hearts to their needs-
STRANGE THOUGHT-A wise man makes his own decisions, an ignorant man follows public opinion-
I'VE LEARNED-Success has made failures of many people-
DID YOU KNOW-Pennsylvania was the first state to legalize witchcraft-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What part, if any, did the Magi visit play in the birth of Jesus?
2-Were the Magi using the original "GPS" unit?
3-Is the name Jesus the Greek version for the Hebrew name Joshua. If so, why not just use the name Joshua when referring to Christ?
4-Why was Jesus given such a common Jewish name?
5-Is it always easy to trust in the Lord?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who criticized her famous brother for being married to an Ethiopian woman?
Yesterday's answer -Zipporah Exodus 4:25
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 2 Corinthians 6:8-13

8 Some people honor us, but others blame us. Some people say evil things about us, but others say good things. Some people say we are liars, but we speak the truth.9 We are not known, but we are well known. We seem to be dying, but we continue to live. We are punished, but we are not killed.10 We have much sadness, but we are always rejoicing. We are poor, but we are making many people rich in faith. We have nothing, but really we have everything.

11 We have spoken freely to you in Corinth and have opened our hearts to you.12 Our feelings of love for you have not stopped, but you have stopped your feelings of love for us.13 I speak to you as if you were my children. Do to us as we have done—open your hearts to us.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Praying man Jesus, You teach us that our act of worship is not confined to a cathedral setting nor does it require professional ministerial training to carry out true worship. It comes from the heart of the true believer who acknowledges that You are the long awaited Messiah, the One who is called Christ. We worship You in Spirit, for though we cannot humanly see or touch You, we come to You in complete sincerity with a spirit that is directed by the life and activity of the Holy Spirit. We worship You in truth because union with You requires believing and speaking the truth. May we be the kind of worshipers that pleases the heart of the Father. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
