Sunday January 22, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-We need the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness-
2-God dwells in the praise of his people-
3-Thanksgiving has to do with things, praise has to do with people-
4-Praise is the door of entrance into God's presence-
5-To glorify God is man's greatest objective-
STRANGE THOUGHT-It is not a real sponge cake unless you borrow all the ingredients-
I'VE LEARNED-Rationalization is disobedience because it refuses to accept the truth and is an insidious form of self delusion-
DID YOU KNOW-In Kansas, it is against the law to catch fish with your bare hands-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do angels bridge the gulf between the divine world and our created world?
2-Do Christians have individual guardian angels?
3-Do angels speak to us today? If so, how?
4-Can and/or do angels visit us in a dream?
5-Are angels ever an agent of affliction?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What book mentions an industrious woman who plants a vineyard with her own hands?
Yesterday's answer-The woman of Shunam 2 Kings 4:9
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 2 Corinthians 9:6-9
6 Remember this: The person who plants a little will have a small harvest, but the person who plants a lot will have a big harvest. 7 Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give. You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily. 8 And God can give you more blessings than you need. Then you will always have plenty of everything—enough to give to every good work. 9 It is written in the Scriptures:
"He gives freely to the poor.
The things he does are right and will continue forever." — Psalm 112:9
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, during the natural course of events, we often declare “God is good” when circumstances lean in our favor. But the life of Joseph teaches us that, in the midst of granting us giftings and favor, You also grant us unwanted circumstances in our life to bring about Your intended purpose. By the time Joseph married and had two sons he learned that it is You who makes us “forget all our trouble”. And it is You who “makes us fruitful in the land of our suffering.” May we embrace the same attitude as Joseph, who learned far more about You through his years of suffering than his years of ease. Keep us faithful and growing in our sorrows and suffering, in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU ENOUGH---
