Monday April 2, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-It is easy to hate an enemy but it costs to love him-
2-The best victory is to conquer self-
3-A learned man always has a wealth within himself-
4-When love and skill work together expect a masterpiece-
5-"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom"-
STRANGE THOUGHT-When we are in prosperity it is easy to give advice to those who are not-
I'VE LEARNED-The more you do unselfishly, the more you live abundantly-
DID YOU KNOW-The Wright Brothers' first plane was called The Bird of Prey-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What does the name Judas Iscariot mean?
2-Before Judas became a disciple what kind of person was he?
3-Why do we know so little about the background and lives of the disciples?
4-Why didn't Jesus just turn himself over to the authorities instead of waiting to be betrayed?
5-Was Jesus avoiding or hiding from the authorities prior to his arrest?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What treacherous son led a revolt against his father, the king of Israel?
Yesterday's answer-Herod the Great Matthew 2:16
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Matthew 6:22-24
22 "The eye is a light for the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. And if the only light you have is really darkness, then you have the worst darkness.

24 "No one can serve two masters. The person will hate one master and love the other, or will follow one master and refuse to follow the other. You cannot serve both God and worldly riches.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Praying manFather, there is no one nor anything that deserves our complete allegiance, but You, our Lord, who holds the words of eternal life. Though others may refuse to listen or turn away from the message of salvation we choose to persevere, for to Whom else could we turn? We persevere in trial and in victory, in the ups and downs and in the in-betweens of everyday circumstances. We seek to do Your will in all things so that we will be richly rewarded at the end of this life.

We thank you for devoted followers who serve You in hard places. We know that some of them, will pay the ultimate price. May their life’s testimony and love for the people they serve be a lasting witness of the saving power of Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
