Friday September 6, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Destructive worry subtracts God from the future and faces uncertainties with no faith-
2-Worry is the dark room where the negative becomes glossy prints-
3-God wants us to be doers, not strivers
4-Appropriate discipline is an expression of love-
5-For those who put their trust in God's plan of salvation, death is a transition to heaven-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why do pianos have 88 keys?

I'VE LEARNED-One of the greatest things to know and often the least known is when you've had enough-

DID YOU KNOW-South American harpy eagles eat monkeys-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What do we know about Lazarus other than he had a terminal illness and Jesus resurrected him four days later-
2-Was Lazarus happy he was resurrected?
3-How long did Lazarus live after his resurrection?
4-Was Lazarus at Jesus' crucifixion?
5-Why didn't Jesus resurrect Lazarus with his grave cloths off?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who brought Peter to Jesus?
Today's answer-Andrew

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts 16:38-40
38 The police told the Roman officers what Paul said. When the officers heard that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens, they were afraid. 39 So they came and told Paul and Silas they were sorry and took them out of jail and asked them to leave the city. 40 So when they came out of the jail, they went to Lydia’s house where they saw some of the believers and encouraged them. Then they left.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we want to prayerfully consider Timothy’s warning and realize that evil will escalate in the last days where the wicked and impostors will worsen and deception will be rampant even in the church. This happens when the Holy Bible is not the supreme authority, and is replaced by the popular teaching of those who seek to sway believers as they “spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.” We want to be wise, discerning, and careful to line up that which we hear with the ancient words of Scripture. For You are coming to judge the earth. You will judge the world with righteousness and all the nations with Your truth. Therefore we want to be fully devoted to following Your commandments, contend faithfully to the truth, and guard the deposit  You entrusted to us. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
