Thursday September 5, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Nothing fosters fear like an ignorance of grace-
2-If you have received God's forgiveness, live forgiven-
3-Worry has more questions than answers-
4-Worry is legitimate concern morphing into toxic panic-
5-Jesus doesn't condemn legitimate concern for responsibilities but rather the continuous mindset that dismisses God's presence-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why are 9 volt batteries rectangle while others are round?

I'VE LEARNED-Worry accomplishes nothing-

DID YOU KNOW-Eagles can live for up to forty six years-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Luke ever talk with Mary and Elizabeth?
2-How many of Jesus' close friends and family did Luke know first hand?
3-Why is there no mention in scripture of how and when Luke became a believer in and follower of Jesus?
4-Why is Luke's name not mentioned in his writings?
5-Whatever happened to the ungrateful lame man healed by Jesus?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What was Paul's original name?
Today's answer-Saul

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts 16:35-37
35 The next morning, the Roman officers sent the police to tell the jailer, “Let these men go free.”
36 The jailer said to Paul, “The officers have sent an order to let you go free. You can leave now. Go in peace.”
37 But Paul said to the police, “They beat us in public without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens.[a] And they threw us in jail. Now they want to make us go away quietly. No! Let them come themselves and bring us out.”

Footnotes:

  1. 16:37 Roman citizens Roman law said that Roman citizens must not be beaten before they had a trial.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, we marvel at the miracles Jesus performed, as recorded in the New Testament. Taking a young boy’s small lunch and feeding 5,000 men along with their wives and families can only result from Your supernatural work. And then to have leftovers from such a setting is even more amazing. Just as the disciples and the crowd learned so much about Jesus through His feeding of the crowd, we too learn that nothing is impossible with You. We also learn from this story that You are a resourceful God when Jesus instructed that the leftovers be collected “so that nothing is wasted”. Help us to be good stewards of all that You provide for us showing us how to be creative and generous toward others as well. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
