Monday May 2, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-A person is old when regrets take the place of dreams-
2-Heartbreak ridge intersects with new hope road-
3-He who buries their talents is making a grave mistake-
4-The oil of God's love reduces friction to a fraction-
5-Remember whose you are so you will remember who you are-
STRANGE THOUGHT-If tin whistles are made of tin, what are horns made of?
I'VE LEARNED-What we anticipate seldom occurs, what we least expect generally happens-
DID YOU KNOW-It takes more than five hundred peanuts to make one twelve ounce jar of peanut butter-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How are Christians to be "poor in spirit"?
2-Did Jesus ever laugh?
3-Were there any other people of Nazareth named Jesus?
4-Did Jesus' close friends and family know he was the messiah?
5-What kind of tears are blessed?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Whose ten concubines were forced to engage in public lewdness with the king's sons?
Yesterdays's answer-Rahab
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 2 TIMOTHY 3:1-9
The Last Days
1 Remember this! In the last days there will be many troubles,2 because people will love themselves, love money, brag, and be proud. They will say evil things against others and will not obey their parents or be thankful or be the kind of people God wants.3 They will not love others, will refuse to forgive, will gossip, and will not control themselves. They will be cruel, will hate what is good,4 will turn against their friends, and will do foolish things without thinking. They will be conceited, will love pleasure instead of God,5 and will act as if they serve God but will not have his power. Stay away from those people.6 Some of them go into homes and get control of silly women who are full of sin and are led by many evil desires.7 These women are always learning new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth fully.8 Just as Jannes and Jambres were against Moses, these people are against the truth. Their thinking has been ruined, and they have failed in trying to follow the faith.9 But they will not be successful in what they do, because as with Jannes and Jambres, everyone will see that they are foolish.
PRAYER FOR TODAY

Today, I affirm that I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. I surrender my will, my desires and my life to you, O God. I commit myself to your call to discipleship: to pray, study your Word, worship you, invite other people to a life of discipleship, encourage Christians in their life of faith, serve those in need, and give joyfully of the gifts that You first gave me. This I pray in Jesus’ name.

Amen
GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
