Thursday January 24, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Often what you want is what you can't have-
2-If sin wasn't attractive it wouldn't snare you-
3-We will never know Jesus is all we need until Jesus is all we have-
4-Jesus most important question to everyone is "Who do you say that I am"?
5-Jesus promised great rewards to his followers in heaven but not without potential pain and problems in the process of getting there-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The IRS- they've got what it takes to take what you got-

I'VE LEARNED-Three things in life that once gone never come back-1 Time, 2 Words, 3 Opportunities-

DID YOU KNOW-The roar we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in our ear-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is a "lukewarm" Christian?
2-What does it mean to "give up everything for Jesus"?
3-Is it possible to "give up everything for Jesus"?
4-Does God ask you to "give up everything" to follow him?
5-Don't we often try to earn our way to be children of God?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What revered judge anointed Saul?
Yesterday's answer-Christ

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    John 12:1-8
Six days before the Passover Feast, Jesus went to Bethany, where Lazarus lived. (Lazarus is the man Jesus raised from the dead.) There they had a dinner for Jesus. Martha served the food, and Lazarus was one of the people eating with Jesus. Mary brought in a pint of very expensive perfume made from pure nard. She poured the perfume on Jesus’ feet, and then she wiped his feet with her hair. And the sweet smell from the perfume filled the whole house.
Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus’ followers who would later turn against him, was there. Judas said, “This perfume was worth an entire year’s wages. Why wasn’t it sold and the money given to the poor?” But Judas did not really care about the poor; he said this because he was a thief. He was the one who kept the money box, and he often stole from it.
Jesus answered, “Leave her alone. It was right for her to save this perfume for today, the day for me to be prepared for burial. You will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, thank You for giving us the capacity to forgive those who sin against us. Jesus serves as the supreme example of One who forgave those who betrayed, abandoned, lied, scourged, and drove the nails in His hands raising Him on the cross to be humiliated and mocked by onlookers. We will bear no offense on this side of heaven that Jesus will not uphold us in our pain and comfort us in our sadness. We can forgive others because You have forgiven us. Help us to bear with those who repeatedly hurt us. Show us how to love those who are most unlovely and unloving toward us. We pray this through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
