Sunday June 2, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Patriotism is like charity, it begins at home-
2-A free society is one where it is safe to be unpopular-
3-It is easy to take liberty for granted when you have never had it taken from you-
4-We need an America with the wisdom of experience and young in spirit-
5-Having children does not make mothers or fathers-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Do old men wear boxers or brief-depends-

I'VE LEARNED-Most people keep a pot of anger on low boil-

DID YOU KNOW-The antlers of a male moose can have as many as thirty tines, or spikes-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What language did Peter speak after the Pentecost experience when 3000 people believed?
2-When 3000 people believed Peter on the day of Pentecost and were baptized, how and where was it done?
3-Who baptized the 3000 new believers?
4-Why were so many in Jesus' day not impressed by the miracles he did?
5-Why were the Sanhedrin so afraid of Jesus and his followers?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What king ordered the priest Uriah to make a copy of a pagan altar he had seen in Damascus?
Yesterday's answer-Urim and Thummim   Exodus 28:30

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Acts 5:39-42
The leaders agreed with what Gamaliel said. 40 They called the apostles in, beat them, and told them not to speak in the name of Jesus again. Then they let them go free. 41 The apostles left the meeting full of joy because they were given the honor of suffering disgrace for Jesus. 42 Every day in the Temple and in people’s homes they continued teaching the people and telling the Good News—that Jesus is the Christ.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, it is in Your name that we, as a nation, put our hope. In Your name we cast down all that pertains to evil as we also raise up a standard that goes before us in our battle against the powers of darkness. We lift our hearts to You, gracious Father, seeking forgiveness and favor. As You view our troubled, sin-ridden nation we ask once again for mercy, for a visitation of Your Holy Spirit to overshadow, convict and heal our land. Revive us again in devotion to You. Do not give us over to our sins, as we deserve, but give us, instead, over to passionate prayer and a heart of repentance and an obedient spirit that moves Your heart. “May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You.” In the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ we pray”. Amen

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
