Tuesday June 11, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-A person's character is best seen in their relations with someone who is weaker than them-
2-A promise made in the past directs fidelity in the present-
3-"Trust in the Lord with all your heart-----in all your ways acknowledge him"-
4-The best garment to wear is love-
5-God's wrath is doing what you want to do and then paying the consequences-

STRANGE THOUGHT-He who laughs last thinks slowest-

I'VE LEARNED-Where deception exists, disillusion follows-

DID YOU KNOW-It is the female lion who does more than 90 percent of the hunting-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Were most of the original 12 disciples killed as martyrs?
2-What is "Acts of Andrew" and why is it not part of scripture?
3-Who was the first martyr of the Christian faith?
4-Was there a book called "The martyrdom of Bartholomew"
5-Which disciples were not martyrs?

BIBLE TRIVIA-During Nehemiah's ministry, what priest dedicated the newly rebuilt walls of Jerusalem?
Yesterday's answer-Bells and pomegranates    Exodus 28:33-34

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Acts 7:23-29
23 “When Moses was about forty years old, he thought it would be good to visit his own people, the people of Israel. 24 Moses saw an Egyptian mistreating one of his people, so he defended the Israelite and punished the Egyptian by killing him. 25 Moses thought his own people would understand that God was using him to save them, but they did not. 26 The next day when Moses saw two men of Israel fighting, he tried to make peace between them. He said, ‘Men, you are brothers. Why are you hurting each other?’ 27 The man who was hurting the other pushed Moses away and said, ‘Who made you our ruler and judge? 28 Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’[a] 29 When Moses heard him say this, he left Egypt and went to live in the land of Midian where he was a stranger. While Moses lived in Midian, he had two sons.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, forgive us when we seek after temporal solutions to meet the deep yearnings of our heart. Your eternal solution was to send Jesus, Your Son, to give us life – a life that is no longer empty or imprisoned by sin’s chains. Thank You for Jesus who came that we might have abundant life through His substitutionary death on our behalf. Nothing on earth and no person dear to our hearts deserves our allegiance more than our Savior. Thank You for coming; thank You for giving and thank You for saving us from our sin. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
