Saturday December 14, 2019 thought for the day

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The trouble with being a good sport is that you have to lose to prove it-
2-Shouting to make your children behave is like steering your car with the horn-
3-Only a fool argues with a skunk, a mule or a cook-
4-Committee--a group of the involuntary appointed by the indecisive to discuss the unnecessary-
5-No day is complete until you hear the laughter of a child-

STRANGE THOUGHT
God loves everyone but probably prefers “fruits of the spirit” over “religious nuts”-

I’VE LEARNED
Although you should forgive, you shouldn’t forget-

DID YOU KNOW
Halley’s Comet came into view in 1835 when Mark Twain was born, and was again in view in 1910 when he died-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Should there be more Bible written today?
2-Why do Christians want mercy for themselves and judgement for everyone else?
3-Why don’t we want to give other people the benefit of the doubt-
4-Can you have empathy for someone you don’ like?
5-Can you be a Christian and not like or love someone?

BIBLE TRIVIA
At the first Passover, what were the Israelites told to apply to their doorposts?
Answer for today        Lamb Blood      Exodus 12:7

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
During Elizabeth’s sixth month of pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin. She was engaged to marry a man named Joseph from the family of David. Her name was Mary. The angel came to her and said, “Greetings!  The Lord has blessed you and is with you”                                                                                                     Luke 1:26-28 NCV

PRAYER

Father, I thank you for your Word that strengthens my faith and reminds me of the security in you-

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN.  BE A BLESSING, BE A FRIEND, ENCOURAGE SOMEONE, TAKE TIME TO CARE.  LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND-
