Monday April 18, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Be careful what you ask God for, for you may get it-
2-Resentment is letting someone you despise live rent free in your head-
3-Harboring bitterness, even if justified, only wounds us more-
4-There is no use burying the hatchet if we are going to put a marker at the spot-
5-Every family tree has some sap-
STRANGE THOUGHT-Everybody is somebody else's weirdo-
I'VE LEARNED-Money can't buy you happiness, but it might make you comfortable while you're being miserable-
DID YOU KNOW-A can of Diet Coke will float in water, while a can of regular Coke sinks-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How does being a peace keeper apply to yourself?
2-Do new Christians have to learn how to live the beatitudes?
3-Can a person be a Christian and have an angry disposition?
4-Will all Christians suffer persecution?
5-Can persecution be a blessing in disguise?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was the wife of Haman of Persia
Yesterday's answer-Romans
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY 1 TIMOTHY 4:6-16
Be a Good Servant of Christ
6 By telling these things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus. You will be made strong by the words of the faith and the good teaching which you have been following. 7 But do not follow foolish stories that disagree with God's truth, but train yourself to serve God.8 Training your body helps you in some ways, but serving God helps you in every way by bringing you blessings in this life and in the future life, too.9 What I say is true, and you should fully accept it. 10 This is why we work and struggle: We hope in the living God who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

11 Command and teach these things.12 Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead, be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your pure life.13 Until I come, continue to read the Scriptures to the people, strengthen them, and teach them.14 Use the gift you have, which was given to you through prophecy when the group of elders laid their hands on you.15 Continue to do those things; give your life to doing them so your progress may be seen by everyone.16 Be careful in your life and in your teaching. If you continue to live and teach rightly, you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

O GOD, the King eternal, who divides the day from the darkness, and turns the shadow of death into the morning; Drive far off from me all wrong desires, incline my heart to keep your law, and guide my feet into the way of peace; that having done your will with cheerfulness while it was day, I may give you thanks with a joyful heart when the night comes; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
