Friday May 18, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You can show love in any situation you face-
2-Love is patient but does not tolerate everything-
3-Love is kind but sometimes the kindest thing is perceived negatively-
4-Love doesn't say yes to everything everyone desires-
5-Love coming from the heart of God seeks what is best for others before considering ourselves-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Fishing for compliments-

I'VE LEARNED-The more a person has, the more he wants-

DID YOU KNOW-Worldwide, there are more statues of Joan of Arc than of anyone else.  France alone has about forty thousand of them-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW-
1-Had anyone been crucified at Golgotha before Jesus?
2-Why didn't the high priest know who Jesus really was?
3-Are the things we do to get closer to God a duty we fulfill?
4-Why were there no witnesses to Jesus' resurrection?
5-Why didn't Jesus first appear to the Jewish religious leader and/or Pilate immediately following his resurrection?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was appointed governor of Judah after the people went into exile?
Yesterday's answer-Ezekiel  1:1-2

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Matthew 13:1-9
1 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake.2 Large crowds gathered around him, so he got into a boat and sat down, while the people stood on the shore. 3 Then Jesus used stories to teach them many things. He said: "A farmer went out to plant his seed. 4 While he was planting, some seed fell by the road, and the birds came and ate it all up.5 Some seed fell on rocky ground, where there wasn't much dirt. That seed grew very fast, because the ground was not deep.6 But when the sun rose, the plants dried up, because they did not have deep roots.7 Some other seed fell among thorny weeds, which grew and choked the good plants.8 Some other seed fell on good ground where it grew and produced a crop. Some plants made a hundred times more, some made sixty times more, and some made thirty times more. 9 Let those with ears use them and listen."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, there are many good things that beckon my attention, time, and energy.  But as You place on my heart a ministry or service that  brings eternal significance to others give me strength, endurance and desire to press on zealously, no matter the difficulty or seeming ineffectiveness.  As I obey You I  find reward and fulfillment in my spiritual walk and am investing in that which does not perish, spoil or fade.  Keep me firm and immovable always abounding in Your work because I want to make an eternal difference and am confident that my work for You is never in vain.  Amen.

I WISH YOU ENOUGH!
