Friday August 2, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Deeds done in God's name long outlive our earthly lives-
2-Poverty is not the lack of charity but the lack of justice-
3-No one can do everything, but everyone can do something-
4-Did God call us to preach without ceasing, to teach without ceasing, have meetings without ceasing, sing without ceasing, etc.  No, but he did call us to "pray without ceasing"-
5-We serve Jesus by serving other people-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motive-do good anyway-

I'VE LEARNED-We need to forget the hurts someone has done to us-

DID YOU KNOW--The female knot tying weaverbird will refuse to mate with a male who has built a shoddy nest.  If spurned, the male must take the nest apart and completely rebuild it to win the affections of the female-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-In scripture could not the items of differing understanding have been made clear when they were first expressed or written-
2-Did Jesus have the Jewish Bar Mitsva at age 13?
3-Did the Hebrew people ever practice "The Year of Jubilee"?
4-Are there more things that unite or separate people of various Christian denominations?
5-What is the "Talmud"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Which epistle mentions "one Lord, one faith, one baptism"?
Yesterday's answer-Not to collect any more than was legal   Luke 3:12-13

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Acts 13:4-5
Barnabas and Saul, sent out by the Holy Spirit, went to the city of Seleucia.  From there they sailed to the island of Cyprus.  When they came to Salamis, they preached the Good news of God in the Jewish synagogues.  John Mark was with them to help.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, as believers, we are watching for the return of Christ. We cast aside behaviors and attitudes that distract our minds or weigh our hearts down with the cares and Mindset of this world; otherwise we will be caught off guard and fall into the enemy’s trap. We want to be sober, vigilant, and living in anticipation for that glorious day when the redeemed will be caught up in the air to meet Jesus. And so we will be with You forevermore. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
