Sunday August 11, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The very fact that God sent a savior means that we need one-
2-Forgiving is an attribute of the strong-
3-Facing the emptyness inside you is the prelude to being filled with God's Spirit-
4-Loving the world is the same as hating God-
5-Our choices show what we really are, more than do our abilities-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If a word is misspelled in a dictionary, how would we know it?

I'VE LEARNED-Shared grief is half the sorrow but happiness when shared is doubled-

DID YOU KNOW-The emu is Australia's largest bird at a height of seven feet tall.  It can't fly, but it can swim and has the ability to run up to forty miles per hour-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Joseph and Mary live together before Jesus was born?
2-What ever happened to the home that Joseph and Mary left in order to go to Bethlehem?
3-Didn't Joseph and Mary know her delivery time could be while they were gone?
4-Where did Joseph and Mary expect to stay on their journey to Bethlehem?
5-Was it necessary for God to have had Jesus born under a scandal concerning Mary's pregnancy?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was the only one of the twelve apostles not from Galilee?
Yesterday's answer-Peter

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Acts 13:36-41
36 David did God’s will during his lifetime. Then he died and was buried beside his ancestors, and his body did rot in the grave. 37 But the One God raised from the dead did not rot in the grave. 38-39 Brothers, understand what we are telling you: You can have forgiveness of your sins through Jesus. The law of Moses could not free you from your sins. But through Jesus everyone who believes is free from all sins. 40 Be careful! Don’t let what the prophets said happen to you:
41 ‘Listen, you people who doubt!
You can wonder, and then die.
I will do something in your lifetime
That you won’t believe even when you are told about it!"

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, we who find the answers to life in the Scriptures have also found the peace that comes with knowing Jesus as our Saviour. There is a restlessness and unending struggle for those who set out to rewrite that which has already been written for all time; the manual for all people of every nation, inspired by the Holy Spirit. We thank You for the Bible, Your holy instructions that teach, inspire, and give us faith for that which we don’t understand or have not yet experienced. The cross is foolishness to those who don’t believe, but for us who place our trust in Your plan for our salvation, cherish the old rugged cross so despised by the world. Keep us faithful and trusting until all is fully revealed in Your divine time. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
