Tuesday August 6, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Success is not ever making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time-
2-The only way of finding the limits of the possible is going beyond them into the impossible-
3-Success is getting up just one more time than you fell-
4-Nothing else you do will ever matter as much as helping people establish an eternal relationship with God-
5-Love without action is just talk-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why do we press harder on the remote control when we know the batteries are getting weaker?

I'VE LEARNED-Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable-be honest and frank anyway-

DID YOU KNOW-The Connecticut warbler passes through Connecticut only on its autumn migration-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was the concept of "Son of God" offensive to Jewish teaching?
2-Whatever happened to Barabbas after he was freed from his murder conviction?
3-What is the exact timing of everything that happened at Jesus tomb on the first Easter morning?
4-Where was Jesus when the women first appeared at this tomb?
5-Each Gospel contains pieces of information of what happened at the tomb on Easter morning.  Why doesn't one Gospel contain everything that happened?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who was the first apostle to be martyred?
Yesterday's answer-1 Peter   3:20-21

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts 1:16-20
16 Paul stood up, raised his hand, and said, “You Israelites and you who worship God, please listen! 17 The God of the Israelites chose our ancestors. He made the people great during the time they lived in Egypt, and he brought them out of that country with great power. 18 And he was patient with them[a] for forty years in the desert. 19 God destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan and gave the land to his people. 20 All this happened in about four hundred fifty years.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, there are many goals, deadlines, and expectations we meet as we tarry here below. But there’s one goal yet unmet that will carry us to the very end of our lives here, and that’s to cross over the finish line that transports us from our temporal dwelling to our place of eternal rest. Rest from all that troubles us, a place where we will no longer taste of death, sickness, evil or sorrow. But until then we rejoice in knowing that Christ our Redeemer lives. He walks with us through every trial, every heartache, and every temptation that our enemy, the devil, hurls at us. We are victors through Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
