Ftriday August 9, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Christmas is more about opening our hearts than opening our presents-
2-Living by faith is looking at Jesus and not looking at the wind and waves of your troubled sea-
3-The next time your little hut is burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God-
4-If you don't have Christmas in your heart, you won't find it under a tree-
5-Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why do they call it a TV set when there is only one?

I'VE LEARNED-People really need help but may attack you if you do help them-help them anyway-

DID YOU KNOW-The loudest bird in the world is the male bellbird, found in Central and South America.  To attract mates, the male makes a clanging sound like a bell that can be heard from miles away-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is the difference in giving offerings and giving tithes?
2-Is there any instance of Christians tithing in the New Testament?
3-Why in Christian church history did some churches collect a tax from all citizens?
4-Why is there no mention of tithing in the 10 commandments?
5-Does God only want to receive offerings from cheerful givers?

BIBLE TRIVIA-According to tradition, which apostle was a missionary to India?
Yesterday's answer-Matthew

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts 13:29-32
29 When they had done to him all that the Scriptures had said, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. 30 But God raised him up from the dead! 31 After this, for many days, those who had gone with Jesus from Galilee to Jerusalem saw him. They are now his witnesses to the people. 32 We tell you the Good News about the promise God made to our ancestors.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we have been given a trust and desire to prove ourselves faithful in all areas of our lives as evidenced in our responsibilities carried out here on earth.  Being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us involves sacrifice, humbleness, repentance, and obedience which does not come easily, but is nevertheless required. As we walk steadily with You and prayerfully apply Scriptural principles we will be found faithful. We look to You in prayer and come to You through Jesus Christ our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
